This project focuses on the delivery and achievement of well-desired community needs, ranging from young adults, young professionals, young families, single-parent families, people with reduced mobility, and retirees.
ESG drivers and principles were at the forefront of this project, including involving the community and neighbours at the forefront of the project design.
The project is approved by CMHC as part of its MLI Select housing program, which promotes the principles of affordability, accessibility, and climate compatibility.
This high quality three (3) storey construction respects the human scale of Old Chelsea and its integration into the center of the village. Construction materials, energy performance and envelope are designed to exceed current national and Quebec building code standards by 25%. The project aims to greatly reduce its carbon footprint through numerous initiatives including; the installation of eight (8) charging stations for electric vehicles (EV), a car-sharing program, passive solar design, no use of natural gas despite its presence on Old Chelsea Road, heating and air conditioning via high-efficiency heat pumps, etc.
